OntFront Menswear

I came across this Amsterdam based label, OntFront Menswear, a few months ago and what gravitated me to their clothing was the incorporation of a street-chic bad boy meeting the quintessential gentleman. The fluidity of the two opposing influences is not the easiest to pull of but OntFront do it well and good! A very essential contribution to contemporary menswear fashion.

H&M Spring/Summer 2012 Menswear Lookbook

H&M's Spring 2012 lookbook is very heavily influenced by nautical references -- my personal favourite -- with a collusion of vibrant colours. This line is for the modern man with a cutting edge style. The line is most appropriate for a day out at the beach and all around summer fun! My signature piece would have to be the tribal print burnt-pink trousers.

Topman December Lookbook 2011

It goes without saying that I have a deeper connection with Topman, as so should every other gentleman! These images from their December lookbook that I happened to stumble upon a few weeks ago, spoke to me beyond the style and fashion. Of course all the other fashion houses enjoy stimulating our visual sense but right now, I love this one best! In my humble opinion, these images are artistically enjoyable -- the lighting, the colour, the visual effects -- and who does not like art every now and again?

I'll let the editorial speak for itself.

Hugo Boss Checkmate

It's my favourite! Hugo Boss and here, they give us their take on the plaid trend for fall/winter in varying looks for the everyday casual menswear.

One of the reasons I am so proud of menswear is for the fact that a lot of our clothing is rotated over the decades so something that was epic 20 years ago will be greatly appreciated in the next 20 in some way or other! My children are gonna be some super lucky critters.

Evening Wear: Tom Ford Fall/Winter 2011-2012

Extra special hello to all of you, my people! Today we are talking about evening wear as it is in line with the season -- non stop after dark events. I find dressing for the night to be such a challenge sometimes. However, Tom Ford thinks otherwise.

One can always depend on Tom Ford for the utmost precision and style. Never lacking on the innovation and amaze at the versatile and functionality of the occasion.

Looks that will make that super first-impression last all night at your elegant evening parties this festive season are in the first image. The bright colours undoubtedly pop but the darker shades work just as well. The handkerchief in silk is a sure fire winner and so is the bright strip on the side of the tuxedo trousers.

Dapper-do-da-day!

It goes without saying that Tom Ford is mad pribey so unless you ball like that, you might wanna head on over to Zara [I’m sure you remember me telling you we got one in Johannesburg now] where they are offering a similar chic’ness at a more affordable price.

Topman Smart Redefined Collection

My dear readers, I have been away from you for nearly a month but now I am back and I really want to treat you like I never left at all because, I love you! Getting right into it, I got an email last night containing these pics from Topman's latest collection -- "Smart Redefined" -- and I immediately gravitated towards it.

While I was away, I thought to myself, what can I show my readers to sustain and remind them why this little space of mine is fashionably edible! After all, this blog's sole purpose is to make Fred Astaire's legacy in grace and style live forever. That said, there are thousands of fashion blogs out there, rightly so, because I believe there is room for everybody. My personal challenge now, is to try and say the same things as everybody else but completely differently...

Anyway, I think these images are self explanatory of one of my aspirations; a grunge gentleman's contrast against dapper pieces. The make-me-fall-in-love items in this editorial have to included the leopard print neck tie, the rosary accessory underneath the trench and the white suit jacket with the black lapels. This collection personifies my mind!

Oh, how I love Topman. Enjoy.
